Maja Vita
About

Hi, I’m Maja.

Four countries. Three languages. 20+ years of making people feel welcome.

Maja, warm and approachable, based in Guildford and the Surrey Hills

My story

I grew up in Serbia, moved to Italy, lived in Kenya for eight years, and now call Guildford home. Along the way I’ve worked in cafes, boutiques, trade shows, offices, bars, events, and, more recently, dog walking. Every role has been different, but the thread is the same: I’m someone people trust, and I’m good at making things run smoothly.

In Milan I spent five years as a PA in a law and accountancy firm, managed a boutique, and spent four years representing brands at trade shows across Italy (Genova, Bologna, Roma, Milan). I learned Italian on the job, I’m now fluent, and discovered that my favourite part of any role was the people: the clients, the customers, the colleagues.

Kenya was an adventure. I lived in Nairobi, Watamu, and around Tsavo for eight years, supporting animal-welfare charities and travelling widely. I came to know the coast and the safari country, and experienced a way of life most people only read about. It taught me adaptability, resilience, and how to stay calm when things don’t go to plan.

When I came to England I started at The Keep in Guildford, recommending gins, hosting guests, running events. Then I moved to Hideout Coffee at the University of Surrey, where I helped build the team and the reputation. We won Best Cafe in Surrey. I earned a 5-star food hygiene rating. The regulars came back because of the people, and I was one of those people.

Now I’m building something of my own: flexible services across Guildford and the Surrey Hills, from pet care to hospitality cover to event support and more. I work with individuals and businesses who value reliability, warmth, and a personal touch.

What makes me different

My path hasn’t been a straight line: Genova to Milan to Kenya to Guildford, through offices, trade shows, animal charities, bars, cafes, and events. I used to think that was something to explain away. I’ve come to see it as the point. It’s why I can turn my hand to almost anything, put people at ease in any language, and stay calm when plans change. Range is part of what I offer.

It’s the combination. Most people can do one of the things I do. Very few can do all of them, across three languages, with experience from four countries. I’ve sold at Italian trade shows and walked dogs on the Surrey Hills. I’ve managed a cafe kitchen and hosted VIP guests. I’ve navigated Nairobi traffic and covered reception at a business park.

The common thread? I’m the person you can rely on. I show up on time, I handle things calmly, and people feel comfortable with me. Whether it’s your dog, your cafe, your event, or your front desk, I look after it like it’s my own.

Languages

I speak Serbian (my mother tongue), Italian (fluent, seven years in Milan), and English. Being trilingual isn’t just a nice line on a CV: it means I can connect with a wider range of people, which matters in a university town like Guildford with its international community.
